| Common web hosting terms explained in concise English |
PHPPHP is a widely-used general-purpose scripting language that is especially suited for Web development and can be embedded into HTML. You can use it to create forms for user interaction or webpages which require access to the mySQL database backend. PHP files usually end with the .php extension and can be stored anywhere within the public directory of the web hosting account. Most web hosting companies provide use of PHP with their accounts. If a company you're looking at does not provide PHP, then you should re-consider the buy as you'll miss out on the ability to run PHP scripts. However, if you're looking at a low cost web hosting plan (under $6.00), sometimes they may not offer PHP and mySQL. |
